Simple pleasure: Opening up my purse to find a wallet, keys, a good book and Jolly Rancher candy. No baby wipes, diapers, matchbox cars or pacifiers. I had a kid free weekend which left me exhausted, excited and overall revived.
I left Thursday evening for San Antonio to be a part of a dear friends wedding. I had the opportunity to fly there and back, which I jumped at the chance and Brian even found a fancy hotel for me to stay in Saturday night after the wedding. I felt like a queen! Ashley was a beautiful bride and there was much drama leading up to the ceremony in trying to get her moved into her new house, decorating the church and the all important fitting of the dresses(particuarly mine) which left everyone tired. The wedding ceremony brought me to tears and thankful to have found such a good friend in such a short amount of time that she lived near me. She has been through so much in her life, things that would have left me devestated and unable to function at times, but she has come out on top and she deserves all the happiness and blessings one can receive here on Earth. Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding!
Brian took the boys to the lake to meet my parents and brother and sister in law. They had a "man's weekend" of sleeping under a tent, riding four wheelers and eating junk food. Check out my brother and sister's blogs to hear of the weekend. They have all the details;)
In other news: Things are a happening over at the new homestead! YEAH! I love our builder and feel he has been placed with us for good reasons. He is retired military and has seemed to get the job done, which is exactly what we need during this time. This picture shows the footing of the house and as of Sunday they had also laid the foundation and were to start on framing Tuesday. I am beginning to see a small light at the end of this apartment living.

Jenny your "me" night sounds like it was awesome. ahh, maybe I'll have one of those some day. (Lord knows I could use a haircut). I'm excited for your house! More later...a hungry baby needs my attention!
love Shelly
Can't wait to see your new house. I'm so jealous, I want a new home!
Have you noticed the traffic going in to Blanchard? The new casino,is really slowing it down.
Jessica, Move closer to us and I'll build you one:)
Amy, You were down for a concert! Oh course traffic will be bad. Stop being a "debbie downer";)
Shelly, good to see your up and blogging! I knew you would be good at this.
so i was looking at the pictures of your boys and all my cousins and they inspired me to want my own babies. maybe that why i cant come up with a career for me, because maybe i just want to be a mom. = ) now im super excited for that. -meridith
Meridith, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have children until you have a husband who loves and respects you for YOU. Children are alot of hard work and devotion and you need someone in your life that will help you along the way. Otherwise, motherhood is a great career;)
I can't believe how much they have already done on your house. It is coming right along. I can't get your picture to get bigger so I can see more details. It looks like a great picture of the two of you. MERIDITH I'm glad you want to be a mom but I'm with Jennifer....wait. Your mom can tell you the difference in having a child with a dad and one without. Also find something you enjoy that makes money because you never know when you might have to support your babies. I would never had dreamed my husband would leave me pregnant and with a two year old. Kinda scary!
