Traditions

This past weekend we headed down to Lake Murray for our annual family reunion. We rented a travel trailer that the boys loved staying in and I loved having the AC running continuously. This is the first year in over five years that I was able to sit back and relax while the boys ran all around playing with their cousins. I savored as much as I could because I know that next year will not be so relaxing with a new baby. The boys played football, gathered sticks for the nightly fire and threw rocks in the lake. The best part was that they were in bed by 8:30 each night so Brian and I had adult time with the family as well. That is one luxury that is worth the cost of renting a travel trailer instead of staying in tents as we did last year! The weather was beautiful, the food was excellent and the company was good. My crazy pregnant sister went all out and prepared a daily schedule of what we would all be eating and who would be responsible for what in addition to laying out the nightly clean up schedule. We all liked giving her a hard time, but everything went very smooth and gave my mom a chance to enjoy everyone instead of 'taking care of business.' Amy I hope you know you have now set a standard that will be expected each year!
