A Permanent Place

I love taking pictures of my family. Everything from day to day activities, vacations we love and the many milestones the boys have passed I have captured it all. Unfortunately all the millions of photos I take sit silently in my computer. When Cooper asked to see pictures of himself when he was a baby off to the computer I run as we go screen by screen. As he squints to get a good look at himself I knew something needed to be done.

I have tried scrapbooking. It was fine for awhile and then all the 'stuff' built up in my closet to the point of it having to be moved to their on boxes. The time it took to pull it all out and then scrapbook for hours was to overwhelming. I couldn't make my pages look just right and the creativeness of it all was to much and so all the stickers, decorative paper, scissors, borders, die cuts and edgers were packed away to sit silently with the pictures I still needed to find a home for.

In 2005 I started my own blog and found something that was enjoyable and also captured the moment I was wanting to have with scrapboooking. Wyatt had just turned one and I was so pleased to have a place to write down my memories and include pictures to go with the moment. Friends and relatives could keep up with us and it was like we all lived together in one small community. I had found my niche.

Since the beginning I had wanted to keep my entries and somehow have them in a book. A hardbound book that the boys could get out and look over anytime they wanted too. No more running to the computer and straining to see their pictures. The pictures would finally have a permanent home and my stories to go along with them.

Someone heard my pleas and I found BLURB. I made my first book/album of my entire entries of 2005, all 54 pages of it. I spent about two weeks putting my book together and had a blast doing it. I placed my order and within one week it was at my door. The boys love sitting down and going through the pictures and it is something I 'read' to them often. I have now started on my 2006 book and can't wait to have it in my hands.

What a cool idea! I would like to see your book sometime. do you have to include ALL your posts in the book?

I'm proud of you for doing this. It IS "scrapbooky". You're recording your memories. That is scrapbooking in my book. I can't wait to see it! I have made two digital scrapbooks and they are so much easier than the traditional ones, and not as frustrating.

I also found BLURB and actually ordered my first book today! My mom had suggested I have a hardcopy of my blog for future memory strolling.

P.S. I like the name, Jude. But don't leave a comment that says my names suck if you don't like it! ;)

Pam-you can include as many or as few posts as you want to in your book.

Lita-Jude rhymes with Dude so that is a no go and I would never say your name sucks. Only my BIL gets that term because the name really did;)
