go ahead, yell at me, i deserve it

As mentioned in an earlier post we let the boys light smoke bombs and black cats. Being boys they loved it!

I was inside with Abram whenever I heard the backdoor open with Cooper crying. I rushed over to see what was wrong and saw Brian holding him and moving quickly to the bathroom.

Sitting on top of the counter we were asking Cooper where he was hurting. He would point to his eye, but we couldn't see anything. I asked what had happen and apparently Cooper was hovered over his black cat fire cracker when he lit it a spark jumped and hit him somewhere around his eye. There was no blood at the time, he only complained that it was 'hurting'. This is a boy who knows few adjectives.

Brian gave him some ice and he was good to go. He only kept the ice pack on for thirty seconds or so when I noticed he had opened the bag and was enjoying some cold ice. He continued to light his fire crackers the rest of the night and didn't say anything else about the incident.

The next morning we could finally see the damage. Ouch! I am keeping neosporin on it and it would heal just fine, but he keeps wanting to itch it. This makes it bleed all over again and makes the healing process start from the beginning.

He likes to tell of his 4th of July 'injury' much to my dismay. I PROMISE we are careful parents who watch our children carefully while they are around fireworks. At least he has a cool story now about the time he was five . . .

Sounds like you guys had a good 4th
I am glad Cooper's "injury" was not too serious. Loved all the pictures.

Just wait 'til he's 14! Hopefully he'll still have all of his fingers then!
