This Thanksgiving was the most relaxing holiday I have had in quite some time. Leading up to the week I was a bit apprehensive when finding out my sister, her husband and their little boy were moving in with my parents. The house they were living in had sold quicker than expected and they have yet to find another house they are wanting to buy. Needless to say it was going to be crowded at my parents house.
That was an understatement. There was wall to wall furniture in every room of the house as paths were created to get from room to room. I was to share a full size bed with Wyatt as Brian shared the other full size bed with Cooper. Did I mention both beds were in the same room? They were. Abram took over the playroom, but each night he fell asleep in another room only to be transferred when all the kids were cleared out of the playroom. Each night I said a quick prayer that he wouldn't wake during the transfer. Prayers were answered as he transferred easily.
Having my sister's family was better than I expected. It was downright FUN! Ben and Abram were buddies who entertained each other during the fussy periods. There were enough hands to pass them around so one person didn't get to tired. We had good conversation and lots of laid back time. My mom, sister and I held down the kitchen on Thanksgiving day preparing a small meal for our families. We didn't have to worry about having the house in perfect order, or putting on makeup for extended family visiting, serving lunch at a certain time or having the table in order. It was just us and it was nice.
We ended up staying longer than we had thought and enjoyed the OU game Saturday night with everyone and my brother's family came to cheer them on too. It was a packed house, yet it was comfortable and relaxing.
I'm selfishly hoping my sister doesn't find another house until the new year so when we return for Christmas they will be there to celebrate with us. There we were in the same house we grew up in with our own families. It was neat to see how many things have changed, yet still stay the same. I am very thankful for my family!

How fun! Sounds like you have learned to travel well. I'm still working on it with my kiddos, it always seems to be more stressful than fun when we go places. Maybe we'll get there!
What's the deal? Why haven't you blogged lately? I miss reading about your family.
