*I've lost the cord to charge my camera and I am to lazy to go to the store to buy batteries for it, therefore it is the camera's fault I have not updated the blog. I hate writing and not having any pictures!*
Stars must align, the air must be just the right temperature and most importantly all people involved MUST have an open schedule for this Mom and Dad to get away for a night, let alone a whole weekend. We had such an opportunity last weekend as I drove the two hours to drop the boy's off at my parents house.
What did we do you ask? hotel? beach? loads of fancy dinners? quiet alone time? sleeping? more sleeping? No. We chose to go with our church youth group and attend as sponsors at Winterfest in Arlington, TX. I was up way past midnight each night, ate so much fast food I gained ten pounds, dealt with teenage drama and had the time of my life.
I am very glad to be married to a man who likes to be around teenagers as much as I do and is willing to give up a weekend to be together at something like this. We heard some encouraging speakers, a hilarious stand up comedian and uplifting songs that surprisingly gave our marriage a boost of joy that we were not expecting. God indeed works in mysterious ways.
Thanks to my parents(and sister, BIL and nephew who are still living there)who took on the extra challenge of three little boys. I know the work it takes and appreciate what they are willing to do to give us a chance to put the parenting duties down and have some fun with a great group of teenagers and the other sponsors that went along.
Now I need to catch up on some sleep!

Sounds fun! Maybe someday you'll teach teenagers...you should, you have the gift!
