We arrived at the park bright and early to clear skies and temperatures in the mid-forties. Brrrr! We were finally prepared and dressed in many layers along with warm hats and gloves. We rode the train to the back side of the park so we could hopefully bypass most of the crowds. Brian took the boys on their first roller coaster and Wyatt loved it and Cooper hated it. Wyatt begged to ride again, but Brian isn't as strong as he used to be(ha! ha!)and his stomach was giving him issues.
We headed on and rode The Haunted Mansion, it's a small world, Aladdin's Magic Carpet and toured the Swiss Family Treehouse. In between these we took a break inside a closed restaurant as we tried to warm up by drinking hot chocolate and eating some chips(whatever gets the boys in better spirits). The wind was biting cold and I prayed for the temperatures to warm as quickly as possible. Brian went during this time and got Fast Passes because the average wait time was about 10-15 minutes(no fun!).
The temperature got in the mid 50's which was great as we tried to stay in the sun as much as possible. Here we are waiting for the parade to come down Main Street. The parade was AWESOME and with it some great music. It was one of my favorite parts of the whole day and a great ending to our day at Magic Kingdom.
Here we are waiting in line praying that someone turned our camera in. Don't the boys look super excited? Walking really wears one out and they were ready to go back to the hotel to play. Sad to say our camera was not there. Oh well.
That evening we had dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. We took a bus back to Magic Kingdom where we had to take the monorail to the restaurant. The boys loved riding the monorail(me too!)but this particular evening something went wrong and we waited 20 minutes for it to show up. We were late to for our reservations, but thankfully we were seated right away.
Fun story(to me anyways). . .Chef Mickey's was not all that; and I wish we would've picked another place to eat. I am sure the little girl throwing up behind me did not add to the atmosphere and when we were finished we were ready to go. We had met all of the characters as they stopped by our table and Cooper wanted to get a picture with each one since they had on chef outfits. The last to get was Mickey himself and we were glad to see him make his way to our room.
Sidenote: The waiter had told us that each character would make his way around the room and visit each table. We were not to follow them because each one make a point to see each child. No problem so far.
As we waited for Mickey to make his way around the room we saw we would be the next to last table to be seen. The throw-up next to us had yet to be cleaned and we were ready to go. Right before the 'big guy' sees us he gets called away for a singing thingy and off he goes. Brian and I look at each other in disbelief, but our waiter assures us he will be back in a couple of minutes.
Five minutes later here comes Mickey, but instead of coming to our table he starts completely over in the room and we wait and wait for him to make his rounds. As Mickey gets closer Brian stands up. He will NOT walk away again. Can you believe the music starts again? But as Mickey turns to leave Brian grabs him by the arm and pulls him to our table. See the picture? Does anyone seem nervous? We had great big laughs on the way home from this dinner and I wish I would have gotten the crazed face of Brian as Mickey tried to make his escape. Priceless WDW moment!
Favorite Parts?
Cooper: "Riding the what's it called-yeah, monorail and eating ice cream at dinner."
Wyatt: "I liked the train at the park and eating chips(which was what he was doing when I asked him at the moment).
