2 years old!
On April 30th our baby boy turned 2! YEAH!!! It is no secret that I am not the baby kind. The first two years are very challenging for me and I am happy to see them pass as quickly as possible. My sister in law Jessica is a baby freak and I have told her that I would seriously consider letting her have the baby the first 18 months or so then I would take him back:) But . . . 2 and above, bring it on!! We are celebrating his birthday this weekend at my parents. Yes, two weeks later but I could combine Mother's Day and his birthday all in one trip. Gas is expensive, you know? Wyatt's whole pregnancy was a roller ride, for Brian was in Afghanistan and I went back to work when we found out he was going to be deployed. Unknown to me, I was pregnant. I found out 2 weeks after I started my job and one week before Brian was leaving. AAHH!! The actual pregnant part wasn't so bad considering I was juggling teaching active 3rd graders, which requires being on your feet all day and being a single parent 2 hours away from family members. My church friends played a huge roll in my life during this time and made things tolerable.
It was never known until the last minute if Brian would be able to be home for the birth. The months leading up to April were very hectic and took alot of planning to get him here. I wasn't going to take no for an answer and used all the avenues that were available and he arrived here the day before Wyatt was born. Granted Brian was asleep in the hospital the whole time I was in active labor, which I was NOT happy about. But he was here. Wyatt's birth was amazing and very smooth and recovery was a breeze compared to Cooper's birth. Brian had to leave a week after and did not return until Wyatt was 4 months old. Thankfully I had a very laid back baby who enjoyed sleeping. God was looking down on us for sure!
Wyatt is a very outgoing, energetic little boy. He is a people person who loves attention and isn't afraid to show what he's got. "NO!" "STOP!" "COOPER, NO!" are his favorite sayings along with the pointing of the finger in your face to let you know he means business.
I was able to get his picture taken yesterday without the distractions of his big brother, who was at swimming lessons. I think the pictures turned out great but it didn't come easily. By the end of the session I was sweating and had bruises on my knees and my jaw hurt from smiling a little to much. I finally found what worked to get the smiles that you see, BUBBLES! It was a last resort and it was very successful. He is clapping at all the bubbles that are surrounding him. We had a good photographer to, she didn't let any of the bubbles show. Happy Birthday Wyatt!!
