Happy Halloween!
Finally, Halloween night is here! I am already exhausted from all the other Fall Festivities of school parties, church trunk or treats and the abundance of candy that my children have continually lived on for the past week. What happened to dressing up for one night and going house to house in your neighborhood and then eating it all up and waking with a terrible stomach ache, but still looking forward to doing it all again next year? My boys think Halloween is a week long event and each time the candy comes around they want to eat all that they have.
Our church held a trunk or treat Sunday night which kicked off the Halloween fun. Different families decorated their trunks and then the children walked around to each one to receive candy. There were some very creative trunks and I passed on this part because I had to get to boys ready and that was overwhelming enough. The boys won the costume contest in their age group and they were none the wiser. I was excited, though.
Monday was Cooper's school party. I let Cooper wear his costume but Wyatt had to wear a skeleton Tshirt because I had enough to prepare for Cooper's party that getting Wyatt ready again was not happening. This was my first time being a parent at a school party instead of the teacher. I was much more relaxed "being on the other side" and the 25 three year olds running around in costumes was adorable. Wyatt was able to sit at the table with the other kids and he fit right in. Cooper was introducing his brother to everyone and enjoyed showing him off.
Tonight we are meeting Cooper's good friend Gunner and his parents. I am trying to pull together as many warm clothes as I can. I am going to layer the boys under their costumes so they will be able to show them off as we walk the neighborhoods. Also, after the kids go to bed I think the candy will be donated and never to be seen again.

I understand completely! We have had a total of six activities including the traditional trick or treat tonight. I think I am going to try to talk my kids into handing out some of the candy they have already gotten rather than buying more to hand out! Is that considered "regifting"?
You could always donate to the people who do not have kids to steal candy from. John and I would be very appreciative.
All I can say is...glad it's you, not me. I was able to take pictures of Jacob before he went out and now I'm relaxing by the fire!
Cute pics! Loved their costumes. My little boy (Papa) got tired of handing out candy so we shut the door and turned off the porch light at 8:00! We had been handing out candy since 5:30 and still have lots. Hear that, Amy?
Love, Grandma
They are so cute! Wyatt looks as old as the other 3 years old. He fits right in. I'm glad Cooper is proud of him. As usual we had no trick or treators. Luckily this year I didn't buy any candy. I went today and got it for half price.
