Spring Time Weather

Cabin fever has hit an all time high this week and as we are getting closer and closer to moving. Gary England had been predicting spring like weather for Tuesday and I couldn't believe it until I woke up this morning. Thank goodness he was finally right, it was a warm day. I was thinking of all the great things we could do outside. Visit at least four different parks, have a picnic lunch, go to the zoo, ride our bikes and then I heard the groaning coming from Cooper's room. He woke with a fever and complaints of his "face hurting." Did he not know that this is the only day in the next seven day forcast that we will have temperatures like this?!

I called the doctor as soon as they opened at 9:01 and for the next fifteen minutes I hit off-on-redial until I finally got a human being on the phone. All the waiting was a waste as she informed me that the computers were down and they would not be able to make any appointments until 10:30. "but, what about this great weather . . . ?"

I called back twice more just to make sure they were telling the truth about the computers. No! I did not use my real name each time I called. I was in undercover work! Idiot. Finally after 10:30 the computers were up and running and I had an appointment for 1:20. My day was already wasting away before my eyes.

We hung around the house(like we have been for the past five freezing weeks)until his appointment because at the thought of getting ready or going anywhere but the doctor was to much for Cooper to handle. FYI: he's been accused of being a bit of a drama king;)

At 1:00 we were out the door and on our way to enjoy the day. By 2:30 we were leaving the doctor's with two prescriptions to be filled and Cooper was already acting better. Note to self: I need to find a fake doctor because Cooper enjoys going a bit to much!

I had given him Motrin before we left so I assume that was kicking in and he didn't have anything contagious so after dropping off the prescriptions we headed to the park.

We ran and ran and ran for about an hour and then it was time to head home and make some dinner. The boys were totally exhausted from the amount of exercise they got today. Their coughs were back with full force and we paid for our little outing the rest of the evening. It was worth it all to me. I had to get out and enjoy this sunny day. Some of my sanity returned to me.
