It was a beautiful night outside for trick or treating and I was becoming just as excited as the boys when the moment finally came. We met up with the Tugman's at a local care facility where they had firetrucks, police men and ambulances for the kids to go through, a bounce house and then on the bottom floor you could stand in line forever going from table to table collecting candy. The boys enjoyed the outside things, but the inside was way to hot and crowded. It was a good filler as we waited for Brian to get off work and I didn't have to hear, "Is it time yet?" anymore.

The best part was the actual trick or treating from house to house. The first half was spent seeing who could run the fastest from house to house and the excitement of what they would get in their baskets. The neighborhood wasn't to crowded yet there were still others out and about doing their thing. They loved seeing all the decorations and there were some pretty cool houses, one even had its own 'haunted house' where the kids could go through to get the candy. They were in awe as were the parents! I can see us doing that for the kids as they get older and enjoy handing out the candy too.

We circled the whole block and then some and the candy was overflowing their buckets. Hope was still on her quest, but the boys had lost some steam and they were ready to survey the goods. We headed back to see what they got and each of them picked out three of their favorites to eat right away and to get some water. After a bathroom break and a refilled tummy they were ready to head back out again! We unloaded the two buckets into a WalMart sack and headed back out with an empty pumpkin.

The second go around the running was still there, yet the excitement of the candy they received was gone and in its place came the screaming and the "spooky decorations." They became very aware of all the skeletons, bats and ghosts as well as the scary music some houses displayed. We had to remind them to actually knock on the door as they were screaming and giggling on each front porch. We were still going strong around eight o'clock and we seemed to be the last ones out by then. After another hour their pumpkins were full and we headed back to see what they got. The boys were able to pick out FIVE of their favorites for the ride back home and they were more than satisfied.
A Happy Halloween indeed!

I know this blog is about your boys, but Hope is adorable! Your boys are of course cute too : ) So next year your boys can be the three stooges! (Thats the first trio that I could come up with) HA! By the way did you take half of Wyatt's candy? His stash looks about half the size of Coopers.
No wonder there was a sugar crash yesterday! Sounds like a lot of fun. Glad you guys had a good time!
