Soccer

Cooper finished up his first soccer season earlier this month and we had a fantastic year! I signed Cooper up with his friend Luke(number 4) who played on this same team last year. The BLAZE!

There were only seven boys on the team which helped them all bond together rather quickly. Cooper was excited to start playing and had a little to much fun at the practices that were held twice a week for an hour. Having Luke on the team helped Cooper adjust a little to well as they had a great time being silly together. There were many talks about listening to the coach and what a good listener looks like and alot more runs to the light post because they were not paying attention.

I found out I was more vocal at sporting events than I thought and enjoyed watching them play and score goals. Wyatt was great to take to all the practices and games because there was alot of room to roam and kick his own ball. I want to sign him up to play next fall and hopefully he will be able to play on Cooper's team. Payt(Luke's brother) and Wyatt felt a part of the team as they were right there with them at the end when snacks were delivered;) It didn't hurt to have Payt around to keep them both entertained.

Another reason for the great season was the Coach. Cooper thought he was great and would listen to anything he had to say. He was intent on having him be invited to his birthday party! With it being such a small team Geoff was able to interact with the boys more and he was very energetic and seemed to really enjoy being a coach. I think it made a huge difference in Cooper having fun and getting into the game than when we played T-Ball(sorry John, you all need to move closer so you can coach him!)

I was a bit sad to see the season end. I looked forward to the evening practices and the Saturday games didn't seem to get in the way of the weekends. I am wondering what to do with everyone now that we have our evenings back;~) At the last game all the boys were given trophies which made Cooper's day! Here is a picture of him in action. The picture looks a bit deceiving because the little boy on the ground fell on his own. I promise Luke & Cooper were not ganging up on him . . . much.
