Checking the Mail

Cooper is very interested in how the mail system works. Most of the time he draws a picture and sticks in it in the mailbox and then wonders why the postman didn't take it. This morning he drew a picture for Grandma and wanted to mail it to her. I pulled out an envelope to put her name and address and he was more than happy to stick the stamp on it. It was like magic when he checked the mail later in the day and the envelope was GONE! Later this week we will be visiting Grandma's house where he will find his letter and I think he will be surprised. I love having a five year old!

I turned on my AC today. Yes, I realize it is January but the humidity is about to kill me and I can't stand being hot. I am not complaining about the spring like weather in the middle of winter, I love it!

I love the beginning of the new year. The fresh start, making lists of things I want to do/accomplish, a new calendar(!), and the hopes and dreams of what the year will bring. I am not big on making new years resolutions as I seem to do that many times throughout the year. For the third straight year we celebrated New Year's with Amy & John. This was a low key year since we are both pregnant(7 weeks left)so we had dinner and went to see the movie Juno. I loved the movie and I think everyone else did too. It was a great story and had lots of one liners that I need to watch again to get them all! After dinner and a movie we went back to their house for a game of Monopoly. We had to beg Amy to play and she finally relented all to find out I suck at Monopoly and was out in ten minutes and Amy was the big winner. We stayed the night while the boys enjoyed staying at Grandma and Papa's house so we could sleep uninterrupted and so we could sleep in as long as possible. Sadly we were both up by eight o'clock went out for breakfast and were back at my parents by ten! Don't be jealous by our exciting life;~)

I was glad to see the holidays come and go. I love putting up the decorations and I am just as excited to take them down and put them away. We are back in the swing of a daily routine which makes my brain very happy. We still have a busy January with baby showers(my sisters), trips(just me and Brian!) which will require lots of trips to and from my parents house(bleh). THEN we can start settling in for the arrival of the little one.

And so I thought things were beginning to slow down . . .
