She was my saving grace when we lived in the apartment. Her home became mine as we celebrated Easter together, trick and treated in their neighborhood and had endless playdates. She joined the YMCA with me and reintroduced step class where I fell all over the place as she glided over her bench with no trouble at all. I could count on her for anything and the relationship was all the more sweeter since our boys liked playing together too.
I was sad to see her go, but they were very excited to be moving to a warmer state as her husband's career was soaring.
Two weeks ago I received the news that she has breast cancer. A week later I was hit again with news that not only did she have Stage Four breast cancer but that it had spread to her liver. The news was hard to bear and even harder realizing she wasn't here to hug. Being the control freak I am it is hard feeling helpless on a daily basis for her. I want to do whatever I can to make this battle easier and yet she is so far away. I've been on my knees praying, pleading with God to take this away from her and her family. She is a strong woman/mother and I know she has an amazing family to lean on during the next months as they decide what action to take.
Please join me in lifting this family up in prayer. Prayers for strength, guidance, endurance, love, support, the doctors, the treatment, recovery, her beautiful boys, her new church family, Jeff, comfort, positive thoughts and the words I cannot even express in this blog.
Just pray.

We're all in prayer for Jenny. You hit it right on- she is a strong person and she'll fight hard. It's hard to imagine these terrible things keep happening to the best people, but she's got a great attitude and a great heart. She knows you love her, too, even if you're not there to give her a hug.
Here's a hug from me to you! (squeeze)
She will be in our prayers! I will put her on my Bible study prayer list too.
I'm still in shock. Even though we are both "non-huggers", I agree with you and I wish she was here to hug. It's hard being away from a friend when they are going through such a rough spot in their life. Just keep praying.
