My sweet boy how you have changed so much! I am no longer your #1 as you refuse my kisses and remind me again and again that you can do things yourself and you are not a baby. My role in your life has changed and it is bittersweet as I see you moving towards 'growing up.' I'll admit it has been hard, but I realize a very important step for you. Thank goodness your Daddy is your #1 now, he will be a great role model and I can rest assured passing that torch to him.
You like to beat to your own drum. I must hold my tongue each morning as you want to pick out your own clothes and put them on yourself. I must think ahead if we have to actually go somewhere that day and have two choices ready before you head to the closet. You could care less what others think of your outfit as you think it is the BEST one and expect compliments of your decision. Your shirt it usually backwards, your legs in only one hole of your shorts and your shoes on the wrong feet. A sure sign of your growing independence!
You now share a room with your brother. This was a huge highlight of your year. You had the choice of having your own room or sharing and your big, brown eyes lit up with the possibility of sharing with your very best friend. Big brother had to learn that you are not as tidy as he is and many of your fights deal with you not picking up as quickly as he does. You can put off cleaning for what seems like an eternity to your OCD mother and big brother;~)
You still love playing with Hot Wheel cars and can entertain yourself for hours with the cities you make. You gave up your afternoon nap this year yet still go down for 'rest time.' During this rest time you play with your cars, trains or play with your Leapster. You have no trouble finding something to do by yourself and enjoy the time alone. Being outside is another favorite thing to do. You love riding your brother's four wheeler-alone-which makes my heart skip a beat or two. You are very good at riding it too! Living outside would be the ultimate dream come true and when we go camping you are definitely in your element. Getting dirty is not a concern for you.
I love your giving spirit and the help you are willing to give no matter what the cost. You are very friendly to others and want to make them feel at home. You LOVE to talk and can hold your own in conversations with anyone-even a stranger. You are so excited to finally be four and you like to talk about all the things you can now do "because I four!"
Here is the 'interview' I had with Wyatt this morning about his favorite things.
TV Show: Backyardigans
Food: Goldfish
Friend: baby Abram
Toy: cars
Book: Thomas the Train
Thing to do: play the car game(he just started playing the Xbox with his brother this year)
Be when you grow up: baseball player
Restaurant: Sonic
Song: Jesus Loves Me
Can you write your name?: YES. "Remember that Mom" said with much sarcasm!
All the questions seem to get to him as with the last one he was ready to get up and do something else! Patience is still something we are working on.
I love you very much Wyatt and am proud of all your accomplishments in your four short years. I look forward to many, many more! Happy Birthday!

How sweet! I cannot believe he is already 4. What a big boy! Happy b-day, Wyatt!
Wow, what a sweet blog! I really like it, especially the interview! :)
Very Sweet post!
I love how you write what you admire or love about your child on their birthday. It will be something they will cherish. All of us need our mom and dad's admiration and love.
I love and admire you,
Mom
Sorry we missed the party, hope it was fun! Thanks for inviting us.
