Once outside Brian took over and they were in SuperHero training. First up was stretching/exercising because all SuperHeros need to be physically fit and ready to help at anytime. Second we played Simon Says to make sure all their listening ears were open and they would be able to respond to any emergency. Third was target practice. Brian made a target out of sidewalk chalk and the kids used silly string to try and reach the bulls eye for all SuperHeros need to be able to catch the 'bad guy.' Once they were finished with their training they were able to play, but were to keep their eyes and ears open because reports were coming in that a 'bad guy' had been spotted at birthday parties trying to steal candy. Off they went to play. Moments later the bad guy made his appearance and took all the candy from the house and went running out the back door. I yelled for help and told all SuperHeros to catch him. Thankfully we had lots and lots of silly string and they were running with all their might to get him. Once caught all the candy went flying in the air and sacks were given out for them to collect their treasure. I took no pictures of this activity as I was to involved, but it all turned out great.
Back inside it was time for cake and opening presents. It always amazes me how excited everyone gets to see the birthday boy open presents, as they will sit and watch each one.
I was exhausted by the end of the day and am thankful these happen only once a year!
