Day Two, Real Time

8:30 I hear the call coming from Wyatt's room. "Mmmoooommmmyyyy I neeeeeed to go potty." Jackpot! His pull up is dry and he pees in the potty with no problem. Nothing like a bag of Funguns for breakfast.

9:30 I am feeling brave and off we head to the library. I bring an extra set of clothes and the box of wipes. I also bring the bag of treats that I shake in front of his face several times to remind him of the goodness that awaits him, if he uses the potty.

10:30 I have asked several times since arriving at the library if he needs to potty and if his underwear is clean & dry. "Yyyyeeeeessss!" *followed by a huge sigh* Twentieth time is a charm and he pees in his first pubic place.

We head to the car for our special treats and then I feel so inspired that we head to McDonalds for lunch. I swore I would stay at home all week for this 'PT' business, but Day One was to much inside my house time. I was ready to venture out.

12:30 Arrive home. We tried to go once at McDonalds(eeewww!)with no results. I was afraid that with all the playing and fun they were having that he would forget and have an accident. No problem for him and we arrive home dry.

1:00 Test run, no pee.

1:30 Another test run, no pee. Hello? He hasn't went since 10:30 this MORNING!

2:00 Naptime. I remind him of the bag of goodies and that he needs to try before he lays down. "Okay!" A gallon of pee fills the toilet. I admire his bladder skills.

2:30"Mommy, I need to poop." Ooohhh this is a first. I rush in and he sits on the toilet. We have the usual bathroom talk of where the peepee comes out and where the poop comes out. "get out, I do it myself." I'm not one to complain about wanting to sit with someone while they poop, so I excuse myself.

2:35 "I did it mommy!" There it was the smallest piece of poop I have ever seen, yet there it was. "I want some chocolate!" I ask if he is sure he is done. He assures me he is. I ask again if he IS SURE. And again he says yes. We get the chocolate and off to bed he goes.

2:36 I call my husband to tell! him! the! great! news! POOP IN THE POTTY!! I also try my mom, but she won't answer. I feel great about the potty training business. Poop is a BIG step and here we are only the second day.

2:38 "Mom, I poop on myself." He wasn't completely finished like he had said and he filled up his underwear. Gggrrr. Well . . . we will keep working on that one.

5:10 He must have been getting hungry for he peed with no problem and had a lovely dinner of Cheetoes. Yum!

5:30 Head to Cooper's school for open house. Two outings in one potty training day. Afterwards we head to a local restaurant to test fate again.

6:45 False alarm.

7:15 Public restroom #2 has now been completed and Wyatt was the one to tell me he needed to go. Success!

8:30 Down for bed and I have again put him in his underwear(Thomas the Train)for the night. No . . . not the whole night, just until he falls asleep. Did you not read how important sleep was to me in the last post.

Day Two down, a million to go.

He's doing so good and you make it sound so funny! I don't remember it being that funny when I potty trained you all!

Potty training was the main deterrent to us having a 3rd child! You're doing great!
